Once we become aware of the systems of controls in our lives, the systems within systems, the constructs we create and believe; we then begin to see our abject infallibility, how inconsistently, nay hypocritical, we all act and behave. This is awakening to our existential reality.

Taxation is at best a necessary evil because we don’t trust each other to do the right thing for our society. But it is an evil that inevitably corrupts the governing organization with dark powers, and oppresses the citizens it was meant to provide for, to serve itself.

To flourish as a society each individual needs liberty & resources to contribute fully. This is the libertarian’s ideal. The dangers to this ideal are individuals (and constructs) who oppress/exploit others and resources, and, who out of fear of scarcity, hoard resources.
Enter the state, a construct meant to execute the collective will and protect liberty and equality for everyone, but through human exploitation, becomes another obstruction to that same liberty and equality.
Lets be clear, it are those who would exploit, oppress & hoard at the cost of others and the planet who are the enemy of the libertarian ideal. They destroy not only the libertarian ideal of a society of free individuals, they also corrupt the institutions a free society creates.

Where to begin? Begin to simply note everything that exerts control over you, without judgement, regardless of whether you approve-of/accept/support it or not. Society, government, religion, family, children, peers, jobs, pets, nature, evolution, your mind, your ego, your body…
Become aware of the systems of control in your life, the systems within systems, the constructs they and you create and believe. Just note them, don’t engage emotionally (another system of control), strive to be nonjudgmental – jot them down, let them simmer, thats all, this is where to begin.

Being mindfully here-now in the face of infinite uncertainty (of anything) is the only true power any of us have. To do this is to be a Hero of the Absurd. -Digital preservation of writings of Gautama Prat, Common Archives of the Great Society
